The subject of that video is certainly a victim, and if you'd let them tell it, so too are the men in the next story.

We told you about two of them last night, 23-year old Julius Dawson and 24-year-old Godfrey Lewis, two residents of Faber's road who had been arrested and charged with "being a member of a gang" and "producing a video recording to promote a gang-related activity".

Well tonight the other actors in that video, family members of Dawson and Lewis, have also been charged with those offenses.

It's a complicated story because while a video may be worth a million words you have to consider who owns the video and how it was distributed for public consumption.

And while we'll get into all that, we start with the brazen video of gang signs and a flailing gun that the family of those accused say was only ever intended to be private:

This moment caught on cellphone video which sees Julius Dawson throw up a middle finger and Markel Mahler wave a gun around has gotten them and the other two men in the video, Nigel Willams and George Louis Sr. into a whole heap of trouble.

But the video which begun to circulate on social media yesterday wasn't posted by any of the men in question. Instead their family members allege that the private video was stolen by the police.

Chloe Bainton - Family member of the accused
"That wasn't on Tik Tok because as I saw the post I said well I have Tik Tok so I said let me check and when I looked, I went to look up for it and I didn't see it. So, I actually went on the post and I said this wasn't on Tik Tok this is what the police told me to post."

Cherisse Halsall
"So take me back to the moment when this video is recorded, what's happening in the home when this video is recorded?"

Chloe Bainton
"I would say they were drinking it's something that they aren't normal in their head they are doing stupidness and everyone knows that it's stupidness that they're doing. It's not like they posted it on social media and then the police investigated it, it's something private."

But if it was in fact a private video how would the cops have gotten their hands on it? The family says it was pulled from their folder of deleted files followed by coercion through brutality.

Chloe Bainton
"When they got there the police took them in the room where they beat them to open their phones and they didn't want to open the phone but the police beat them, and when they opened the phone they video and stuff but only the police had the video because the video was only in one person's phone and it was one of the twins phones so that is how the video leaked out."

And it's that alleged leak that formed the basis of the evidence with which the men were charged for gang related activities. The question now is whether or not the actions captured on video are enough to convict them, however the video got out.

Chloe Bainton
"Well I hope that maybe they could get through the court and plead not guilty because just the way of how the police carried this out that is the matter right now how they carried it out. After all, if they hadn't gone into their phones and beat them up they what they said they did it, it would only be what they said they took them for, for resisting arrest."

Four people including two teenagers have been charged in connection with this video and tonight they've all been remanded to prison for its production.
