And while police are investigating the incident, a man was in court today after he posted an obscene photo of his genitals on a woman's face on his WhatsApp status. 32-year-old Daron Gentle appeared in front of Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer and pleaded not guilty to a single charge of sexual assault.
According to the victim, the incident occurred on March 24th, when she invited him over to her house around 1:00 am after he kept calling and saying that he had left something there.
At the time, she was having a birthday party, during which she said she got intoxicated and went to sleep. The next day, Gentle had left the house and the victim said it wasn't until 1:00 am on March 26th that she received numerous calls from him. When she checked his WhatsApp status, she saw the picture, which she did not consent to.
In court, Gentle told the magistrate that he was in a relationship with the victim and that he caught her with someone else. The prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that charges for cyber crimes are forthcoming. Gentle was then remanded into custody until May 30th.
