33-year-old Jose Medina ran frantically into an Orange Walk police station this weekend after what he calls a daring escape from his kidnappers.

And while the cops have yet to substantiate those claims they do have two named suspects who they believe can shed some light on the situation.

The Press asked the police communications officer about Medina's claims this morning but he seemed fixated on the yellow SUV that Medina claimed was used in his abduction.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer

"Orange Walk police are investigating an aggravated assault report so far and an alleged kidnapping, I just got brief information on this because I am looking into whether this report is credible or not. So, we know that someone, that a man Jose Medina, 33 years old, alleged that he was kidnapped in a yellow Ford Escape on Sparrow street. He also claimed that he managed to escape from them, made his way to the station and made a report. I know that officers are looking for one person, Kenneth Williams Jr. of San Fransico street that they believe could shed some light on this and one Rigoberto Garcia also of Orange Walk town. The thing is we are trying to make sure that this is an authentic report before we put out any other details on it. One, it is very strange that a vehicle, a yellow ford escape, that would be very rare in Belize, that the occupants of that vehicle would be daring enough to kidnap someone and allow that person to escape from them. The color alone would raise a whole lot of alarms, no."

"So far this person that alleged that he was kidnapped has identified them as two of the assailants, possible assailants I must say, so as soon as we get to interview these persons then we would know which direction this investigation would go."

Cherisse Halsall:
"So, at this time sir no motive in this kidnapping?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"Not as, not as yet."

Police continue to investigate and say that Medina will have to substantiate evidence that proves that a kidnapping attempt in fact took place.
