This next story - while focused on children - may not suitable for them - so, if you have them in the room, show them out for a few.

It concerns three separate incidents of sexual abuse against minors, that police are investigating tonight, each more troubling than the last.

The first of these incidents was discovered on Wednesday, April 6th when police responded to a previous report of Sexual abuse of a minor. That's where a 7-year-old child reported that on the morning of April 4th 2022 her 64-year old step-grandfather touched her inappropriately and on another occasion attempted to have sexual intercourse with her. A medical examination of the child concluded that the child was carnally known and her injury was classified as grievous harm.

A second report came on Saturday of this weekend when a 15-year-old minor from the Orange Walk District reported to police that both she and her sister have been living and engaging in sexual relations with a 42-year old farmer since October of 2022. That minor was also medically examined after the report and the medical officer certified that she had been carnally known.

And sadly the depravity across the country didn't stop there because on Tuesday, April 12th, a 28-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter reported to police that on April 11th, 2022 the child's 45-year-old uncle took her into a bedroom and touched her inappropriately. Following a medical exam, this child too was certified as having been carnally known and classified the injury as Grievous Harm.

All three men, the 64-year-old step-grandfather, the 42-year old-farmer, and the 45-year old uncle have been formally arrested and charged with assault of a child by penetration, rape of a child, and in the case of the farmer 7 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.
