But while the C.E.O of the KHMH says that COVID is still lingering, she has made the decision to downsize the ward.

That's because numbers have been down for weeks with today's new confirmed cases at 10, hospitalizatIons at 7, and no reported deaths.

It means that the COVID ward wasn't getting much use, and for the time being could no longer justify its use of precious hospital bed and floor space.

Here's how C.E.O. Cansino described its new parameters:

Chandra Nisbet Cansino, C.E.O. KHMH

"It's a little bit smaller. than it was before because we have no re-located our accident and emergency department to where it was, the COVID unit. The original COVID unit had taken up that entire space but now we have brought back the accident and emergency unit to almost where it was before and hvae lliterally I would say cut the COVID unit in half. But again, still monitoring, still watching, and still ready to address any challenge that might come up in the near future."

The hospital did still receive a 40 thousand dollars COVID donation today and we'll have that late Ron in the news.
