Security guard David Edgar Gonzalez was killed in San Ignacio for his firearm on April 28th - and no arrests have been made.

But there are other questions surrounding his death - such as, did he receive the required special license to carry a security firms weapon?

We asked the owner of the security firm if Gonzalez had such a license and he didn't answer. So we asked the commissioner of police, and he didn't know, but he had a whole lot more to say in a very defensive posture:

Jules Vasquez
"The question arises, was that young man licensed, did he get one of these special licenses that security firms must get to carry the weapon that he had?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"Each security company apply to the Commissioner of Police for a security firm license. Once the security firm license is issued, the company then need to apply for the individual guards to be able to carry firearm. Because you could have a non-arm security company and you could have an armed security company. In the case of an arm security company which that company is, that he was working for, they would have to apply for each individual guard that they wish to carry a firearm to be issued a license to carry a firearm for that company whilst on duty and I have not been able to check to ascertain if in fact that particular guard was issued one of those licenses."

Jules Vasquez
"I am reliable informed that he did not, that specific guard did not get one of those licenses."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Everything, Jules you always come with reliable informed and your reliable sources are always full of nonsense and you always come with enjoying this and enjoying that - that is nonsense man. So whoever is giving you information tell them give you the proof. When you have the proof - in fact I will be on Uncut on Wednesday, bring the proof on Uncut on Wednesday, I will deal with it there."
