A retired Belizean who was caught with 66 out of season lobsters back in early March was fined today when he appeared in the Magistrate's court.
Emmeth Barrington Richardson - a retiree of #74 Eve Street, Belize City - was today read a single charge of possession of lobsters during the closed season.
Richardson pleaded guilty and was fined a total of $20 dollars per lobster, which - along with court costs - totaled to a total fine of $1,525.00.
The bust was made on Thursday, March 3, 2022, when around 9:30 a.m. Fisheries searched his home and found the lobsters. The season had closed on March first.
