There was a dangerous collision on the George Price Highway this morning. It happened at around 6:55 between miles 10 and 11 when a tow head truck hauling a fuel tanker had a blowout, veered out of its lane and crushed an oncoming Nissan Altima, wedging it against the highway rail.

The driver, police corporal Ian Geban survived the impact but was trapped inside for a time. When he got out he had various body injuries and was rushed to the KHMH.

The towhead was driven by 37 year old Edgar Como, from Orange Walk Town.

Notably, he is the brother of today's fire victim Devin Geban - who you saw in our lead story.
