Thirsty Thursdays nightclub made the headlines two weeks ago when a young woman who was allegedly drugged with an unknown substance caused a commotion by stripping naked in the club.
It was a most unfortunate incident that left the 19-year-old a victim of public ridicule on social media. Tonight as we look back at the incident the question is did the police do enough? We put that to the COMPOL and he told us that more training will certainly be required.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"It could be a matter of training or a matter of ignorance where somehow police officers are of the belief that male officers cannot interact with females in whatever way shape or form in the execution of their duties. When in fact that is not the case the policy or the practice that we have is that male police officers are forbidden from searching females but if it is that, like in a situation like that where a woman perhaps due to involuntary drunkenness is exposed the way she was exposed, the officers could have acted and done something to cover her. But again I cannot say what they were thinking but I believe that they thought that they could not because of the fact that she is a woman and how she was exposed and so I'm not going to fault the officers for that but what we certainly will do is to ensure that we have more sensitization within our ranks and more training in education our officers in terms of what they can and cannot do in situations involving women."
