And so while there were two murders recoded yesterday evening in the south - the week's first flashpoint of gun violence happened in the city sometime after 2:00 in the afternoon. 32-year-old Carl Reneau was on Faber's Road Extension when he was shot multiple times. And while the police's investigation has just started, the cops are close to figuring out the motive. Today the ComPol said that even though Reneau had a long rap sheet, they are still hunting for his killer.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"We believe the one with Carl Reneau may have been gang related or could also be a retaliation for previous incidents that he had with the law and so we have some suspects we are looking at likewise but again it would be difficult, unless people who are around would speak, but you heard the interview of the family member yesterday, how they described him to be a bad, bad, bad man. At least that's an honest one, he did not try to cover the behavior of the now deceased. But as we have always said before, every life lost is a significant loss to a family and so we will do our best to find out who is responsible and try to bring them to justice."

Reneau had faced serious criminal charges at least four times but had no convictions.
