And a second man was convicted of rape today in the Magistrate's Court. 37-year-old Andre Duane Gordon, a former special constable and a former hotel security guard, appeared in front of Justice Ricardo O'Neil Sandcroft and was found guilty of the crime.

The victim, who was 21 at the time, told the court that on February 24, 2017, when she got home, Gordon was waiting for her. She fell asleep, and woke up to find Gordon on top of her. Gordon, who was represented by attorney Leeroy Banner, insisted that they had consensual sex.

In court, the prosecutor called the victim's neighbor to the stand, where she testified that early that morning, she heard a loud banging which she believed was a bed hitting the wall. She also heard a woman's voice saying, "No, leave me alone."

Justice Sandcroft then explained that after careful consideration of the facts, he had no reason to reject the victim's testimony and accepted her evidence as truth.

Gordon's sentencing has been deferred until September 30th, 2022.
