And Martinez's family in Guinea Grass never thought he'd meet his demise all the way in Boston Village. Our colleagues at CTV3 spoke to his aunt today, who explained, in Spanish, that he used to be a troublesome person, but that he'd calmed down since then. Still, she said it might have been an old beef that caused his death.

"He didn't have any problems in those areas, he has always hung out with soldiers because he's a logger."

Reporter:
"Perhaps he was in the wrong place at the wrong time?"

Voice of: Aunt of Deceased
"No, so far what they have told us they know that it was something to do with wood. He and someone else went in to cut and there was a problem, they hurt him and they killed him."

"He went and he'd come back, he was with another guy who was cutting wood, and this time he was with his uncle. He didn't expect something like that would happen to him."

"He came back to the house and started traveling everyday. Sometimes he stayed two or three days and come back down. And like that, he was here every weekend in Guinea Grass."

"Well what I can say, he was a good guy. [crying]. I won't say he wasn't problematic, he had problems with people here but nothing that said he would hurt them or they would hurt him, here most people are cool. He used to be on the streets making problems but it's been a while since he would be around looking for problems with people."
