And yesterday we told you about the vehicle collision in Sandhill Village that took the lives of three men. As we reported, the bus was heading north when the taxi driver in front of it made a sudden stop. Unable to stop in time, and in order to avoid hitting the people standing on the shoulder of the road, the bus swerved into the lane of oncoming traffic, where it collided into a Isuzu D Max, killing the three persons inside - two immediately and one later on at the hospital.
It is a compound tragedy that has left the families of the men - and the entire Crooked Tree community - battling with their grief. And as we mentioned yesterday, for the family of 32-year-old Brandon Gillett, it was like deja vu, since his father also passed away in a traffic accident.
However, while we initially reported that his father was Dean Dawson, who was knocked down in 2016, we have since been corrected that his father is in fact Warren Tillett, who was killed in 2003 on the Western Highway.
We apologize to the family for the error.
