Police say a businessman had Crystal Meth and Marijuana when he entered the Queen Street Police Station. 33-year-old, Zhi Jun Huang, a Businessman of Belize City appeared unrepresented before the Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser in Court #1 yesterday where he was read a single drug charge of possession of a control drugs with intent to supply.
Allegations are that on Friday, October 21, 2022, he had 6.4 grams of Crystal Meth on him whilst at the Queen Street Police Station. Huang was at the station signing in for another pending drug charge when an on-duty cop searched him after picking up the strong aroma of cannabis. The constable found four small zip lock plastic bags with cannabis inside a sling bag. From there the constable took Huang into the cell block for a more thorough search where he found another bag with weed and 2 Vicks inhalers each containing 3 ziplock transparent plastic bags with solid crystal suspected to be Crystal Meth.
In court yesterday, Huang pleaded not guilty and since there was no objection, the Chief Magistrate offered him bail of $5,000 which he was able to meet.
This is the second drug trafficking charge against Huang for this year. On Monday, July 18, 2022, police raided Huang's store on Douglas Jones Street and found cannabis, cocaine, crystal meth and ammunition.
