And while the BSCFA continues to insist on their commercial rights, that's a pressing political matter for the Prime Minister, and perhaps one of the reasons he's not going to COP27 in Cairo, Egypt. That's the November 6th-18th meeting of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change. His Minister of Foreign Affairs Eamon Courtenay explained why yesterday:

Cherisse Halsall:
"Sir, the Prime Minister mentioned to us this morning that he won't being going to COP, what kind of representation will Belize have at that conference this year?"

Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"I think that is still under review, it certainly will be at the ministerial level, the Prime Minister was advised by our experts that his presence was not necessarily needed based on. What is on the agenda and what is not on the agenda it was not suggested, he was not advised to go let's put it that way."

As we told you yesterday the Prime Minister has taken to reviewing all Minister duty leave forms in order to better decide what travel is absolutely necessary and which meetings they can either sit out or send a C.E.O.
