Today, a former Government Treasury Clerk pleaded guilty to siphoning off half a million dollars from the public purse.
David Enriquez pleaded guilty to 3 counts of false accounting while he was at treasury.
The charge first emerged 7 years ago when he was accused of the theft of $498,638 dollars and 71 cents between March of 2014 and January of 2015.
He did this in three tranches of Smart Stream Electronic Payments.
Enriquez, on the advice of his attorney pleaded guilty to three counts or false accounting for the theft.
Huge sums of public money was lost, but for his guilty plea, Enriquez was fined $12,000 dollars.
