Last Thursday, we told you about the three men who were injured in a shootout on Lacroix Boulevard in Belize City.

Those victims were identified as 61-year-old Kingsley Morrison, 25-year-old Chris Welch, and 25-year-old Ullide Allen, a man who police have accused of being a member of a gang.

As we reported, the three men were inside a Toya Camry parked on Lacroix Boulevard when an unknown gunman opened fire on the vehicle. The driver, Kingsley Morrison, tried to get them to safety, but the shooters chased them unto Mahogany Street Extension, and that's when Kingsley was injured. He then used his licensed weapon to fire two warning shots in the air, and he managed to drive everyone to the KHMH for treatment. During the shooting, both Welch and Allen were injured, and this morning, the police public relations team filled in the blanks for the press. Here's what ASP Fitzroy Yearwood had to say about the incident:

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, Belize Police Department
"On Thursday around 1:50pm, police were called to a scene in St. Martin's area of Lacroix Boulevard where they were informed of a shooting that took place involving Ullide Allen, Chris Welch and Kingsly Morrison. These men made their way to the KHMH where upon observation they were all seen with gunshot injuries to the body. These men were in a car driven at the time by Mr. Morrison who is a contractor and upon driving on Lacroix Boulevard in the vicinity of the Adventist Church, they came under fire from someone that was standing on the side of the street. Mr. Morrison drove off in the direction towards Mahogany Street and upon them reaching in front of Kim's Construction Supplies; they came under fire again by another gunman. Mr. Morrison took out his licensed firearm and returned fire in an effort to try to escape the attack. These men, Mr. Morrison, managed to drive to the K.H.M.H. where they received medical treatment. I know that statements have been recorded, police know who they are looking for in connection with this shooting. We also observe in the parking lot at KHMH Mr. Morrison Toyota Camry that had several bullet holes on it. So hopefully we would be able to make an arrest in this incident. Yes, they were determine to catch their target. Fortunately for us the 3 persons survived that attack. If we can establish it's the same person that pursued them, then we will know exactly how to deal with it I do not believe that Mr. Morrison has any enemy out there that would want to make sure that he doesn't escape and attack. So it is obvious that it is the other two occupants."
