Last night on this newscast you heard Commissioner of Police Chester Williams say that he is willing to open the investigative file into the murder of Fareed Ahmad to allow the media to see what police found during their investigation.

This is after Corporal Elmer Nah was charged for double murder. That same Corporal Nah had been named in court by former Constable and alleged Ahmad Killer Michelle Brown. She said Nah was the one who pulled the trigger. He said she was making it all up.

Yesterday, the Commissioner of Police went to some lengths to detail the evidence against Williams - and maintained that she introduced Nah as a wild card just to deflect from what he believes is her central role in the murder:

Chester Williams, Commissioner Of police
"As a society we are governed by the rule of law, and as much as there are things that the public may be saying. We have to be sure that we act responsibly. I fully understand the concerns of people in terms of their reaction to Ms. Brown's testimony in court but people who have legal training would tell you that the evidence of a co-accused is not evidence against another, that is one."

Jules Vasquez:
"But she is not a co-accused, she is a sole accused."

Chester Williams, Comissioner Of police

"Well, she would be a co-accused because if she had said that Nah was in the vehicle then she and Nah would have been an accomplice. So, by virtue of legal principle it will still fall within that category but what is important and I would like the public to understand. I know that there are going to be those who still have their own view is that why Ms. Brown said what she said in court. Everything she said is inconsistent to the evidence on file, and you would know Jules that a person who stares a life sentence in the face will say anything to exonerate their self. If it were that what she said was consistent with the evidence on file and speaking of evidence given that the eyewitnesses of the Ahmad incident because when the vehicle that Ahmad and miss Brown were in crashed in Hattieville, if you recall I was commander of PSB then. I was then one that oversaw that investigation. We had witnesses who were right in the area at the bus stop and we also had witnesses who were in a vehicle traveling the opposite direction and they saw when the vehicle ran off the road and crashed into the parked vehicle that was there. Those people who were there who are eyewitnesses their account of what transpired was that they saw the vehicle coming and the vehicle suddenly turned off the road and crashed into the vehicle that was on the side. They immediately ran to the vehicle to offer assistance to those who were in the vehicle. At no point in time did they saw anybody leaving that vehicle after it crashed. As a matter of fact their statement indicated that when they arrived at the vehicle, the vehicle was still locked. It was Ms. Brown who had to open the vehicle for them to have gained access to take them out and offer some assistance. One of the witnesses even went to the extent of saying that when they were taking Ms. Brown out she indicated to them that Fahreed was struggling with her for the gun and the gun went off. The ballistic tests and everything prove that the gun that was used was the gun assigned to her. So everything points to her and so people can't expect that because she had gone to court in her defense and said certain things we must prongs out that and just go and arrest people. It's like if somebody who goes to court speaks for murder, on a murder trial says you know what it wasn't me who killed the man it was Jules and then police come and arrest you. It is inconsistent with the principle of the rule of law."
