We wouldn't call it a Cabinet shuffle, but one high profile Minister of State in the Briceno Administration is on the move tonight. Sources tell 7News that Minister of State Ramon "Monchie" Cervantez will be reassigned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration under Eamon Courtenay to the Ministry of Sustainable Development under Orlando Habet.

Like we said it's an administrative change so not indicative of the kind of power realignment consistent with a Cabinet shuffle

But, what triggered it? Well, our sources say Cervantez's performance had been less than stellar - and we know historically that Immigration can be a dicey portfolio to hold, or to share, just ask former Minister of State of Elvin Penner.

But the Prime Minister says that's not the case in this instance. He says that, in fact, Cervantez distinguished himself in that role. In a comment via WhatsApp this evening, he confirmed the re-assignment and told us, quote, "Landy has a huge Ministry and needs help. Munchi is a very capable Minister of State, so I thought it would be best if he can go and help Landy." He said he had had Cervantez along with Eamon Courtenay because he knew he would learn a lot.

The Prime Minister says there will be no new Minister of State assigned to Foreign Affairs and Immigration.
