Tonight, a 38-year-old man from Yo Creek Village is dead after he was targeted in the second shooting he's experienced in two years. This time Eufemio Garcia didn't come out of it alive.
Instead, Garcia was found face-up in a pool of his own blood. Tonight we'll take a look at his last moments and the mysterious motive behind his murder.
It should have been a quiet night in Yo Creek village, four men walking to the local grocer to grab some beers and wind down from the day but that weekend nightcap took a dark turn when a gunman on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire.
It left one man dead and his companions suffering from gunshot wounds they were lucky to survive.
One of those men Alder Valencia, spoke to CTV3 today about his near miss and the loss of his friend.
Eufemio's Friend
"We were at the Chinese store drinking some beers when we saw that someone passed by on a motorcycle. He couldn't have spotted anyone he just passed shooting like a crazy man. We don't know who it was either because we had been drinking and then suddenly when we heard the bullets."

"I took myself and ran behind the pickup because I didn't want to get hit with more shots and then I stayed crouched down. And then we heard that they were shooting I was terrified. We couldn't see anything because they were all masked and I didn't know what type of bike it was or anything because they came fast and they went up there. They didn't stop for anything they just kept going."
Reporter:
"The motorcycle, it was more than one?"
Eufemio's Friend
"It was two guys and it looks like one of them was riding behind because it was just one motorcycle but it was two of them riding on it."
Reporter:
"Two of them shot at you?"
Eufemio's Friend
"No, just one. One started to shoot, no more."
This morning the cops didn't have any answers but they confirmed that this wasn't the first time Eufemio had been targeted.
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer

"The motive has not been established but we cannot say that was gang-related either."
Reporter:
"Any suspects at this time?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"We are searching for one person that the police believe would be able to assist in this investigation."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Sir, is this the same Eufemio Garcia who was shot to the back in a home intrusion in October of 2022?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Yes, this is that same person and our investigators believe that the shooter might have been from the previously reported incident, noh. So, like I said, for us to establish the true motive, we would know precisely what took place out there."
Cherisse Halsall:
"Any recollection of the motive the first time around?"
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Well, that wasn't established at that time either."
Garcia leaves behind a 2-year-old child.
