And we also asked the PM for an update on the new ombudsman. Earlier this month, we reported that Gilbert Swaso had still not taken office, and today Briceno told us why:

"What the CabSec mentioned to me, the Ombudsman has to go to the National Assembly for the Assembly to vote on that appointment. We expect to have a meeting on the 3rd of February so that's when he will officially come onboard but he has already started the work from the beginning of the month on getting himself organized and getting the office going."
