We also asked the COMPOL about the three Belize City men who are missing and feared dead by families desperate for closure.
He gave us an update on the police's attempt to match recently unearthed remains found near the port of Belize to one of those individuals. Here's more:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

"At this time no we are still searching our missing person's database to see if the clothing that the person had on matches the description of any clothing that those persons who had been reported missing were wearing at the time they went missing and so far we have not been able to do so but we continue to do what we can to ascertain the identity of that person whose remains were found in the port area."
"In terms of Joshua Gonguez we have received a notification from the U.S. border security agent that he had crossed into the U.S. and is in the U.S. and so we know for a fact that he is not dead and his family should know that he is not. Christopher Sosa. We had received information that he too may have gone to the U.S., when it comes to Augustine, Akeem Augustine we believe that he may have been taken by some friends and may have been killed so we are trying to see to confirm the Sosa one and when it comes to Akeem Augustine we continue to be optimistic that he is alive, we hope but again like the family says you have to expect the worse."
As we told you last night Akeem Augustine's family believes that his murder was captured on camera but they have yet to receive said video.
