That famous public purse is $39,157 dollars lighter tonight after thieves broke through burglar bars to get into the Dangriga Sub Treasure between last night and this morning.
When finance officers got to the office on St. Vincent Street this morning, they found that the place had been thoroughly ransacked.
When Police got there, they saw that the burglar bars on the bathroom had been pried off, and the four offices thoroughly searched. The burglars found the metal vault and took the daily proceeds, which is almost 40 thousand dollars. Neither the government nor the police have put out any statement or information on this.
