A suspected drug plane landed in Belize sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning. Bit it landed in the remote reaches of the Toledo District, and it took police about 4 days of an arduous trek through the dense jungle to find the burnt twin engine plane on Sunday. The drug cargo was nowhere to be found.
Police told us what they found and where:

"On Sunday 16th April, 2023, various elements of the police department visited an area near Otoxha Village in the Toledo District where the burnt remains of a twin engine aircraft was found. The area was search thoroughly; nothing was found. A review of the area shows that there was an airstrip made in the jungle and that is where the plane landed. From the time the information was received based on the radar, team were deployed and from them they were searching. So it is a remote area and it took some time to reach that particular area."

"A media house, Channel 5 posted that 2 bodies were found in a shallow grave. Is that true."

"That is incorrect. No remains of any body was found in that area."
Remains in the area were believed to be some sort of animal and definitely not human.
