And last week, we told you about the wild shootout up north that left four persons injured and one dead. To the surprise of no one, Police confirmed that it was drug related, but they're waiting for the suspects who are currently hospitalized to be released before questioning them.
But the most recent development was that over the weekend, the body of Randolph Crawford was found in the New River. He had jumped out of one of the vehicles to try and escape the gunshots, but instead drowned in the river - in plain view of ferry workers.
ACP Romero gave us an update on the case.
ACP Hilberto Romero, OC, Eastern Division
"In reference to the shooting that occurred in Corozal, we have Benigno Loria, Sergio Hall, Akeem Trapp and Staunlaus O'Neal are still admitted at the hospital receiving treatment. The body of Randolph Crawford was found at the river the following day, the body was taken to the morgue where it now await a postmortem examination. This is an ongoing investigation and as soon as these persons are released from the hospital then charges will be levied upon them."
"Those are the charges we are looking at, attempted murder and the injuries caused to the victims."
Courtney Menzies:
"I know the ComPol said last week that the suspects weren't cooperating, has that changed?"

ACP Hilberto Romero, OC, Eastern Division
"Some of them are still admitted at the hospital so we are awaiting when they are released so we can interview them?"
Courtney Menzies:
"Are all in stable condition?"
ACP Hilberto Romero, OC, Eastern Division
"Not all of them, one is in critical condition at the KHMH."
Reporter:
"Given the fact that there was a loss of life during this incident is there any indication at this point whether someone would be held accountable for Crawford's death, he was fleeing a shooting incident."
ACP Hilberto Romero, OC, Eastern Division
"Yes that is a part of the investigation, at the conclusion of a postmortem we will look at the results and thereafter a determination will be made if charges will be levied against anyone."
