The High Court is hearing the case of San Pedro businessman David Gonzalez, who is on trial for the murder of wife, 28 year old Marisela Gonzalez. The trial without jury is before Justice Ricardo Sandcroft.
The Crown, represented by Crown Counsel Reese Cattouse, has called 19 witnesses. One witness, police constable Elian Robateau, testified that on the morning of October 12, 2020, when the incident occurred, he got a call from Gonzalez while he was stationed at San Pedro Police Station and Gonzalez told him that he had just killed his wife.
Marisela's nude body was found at a dump site in San Pedro. A witness whose statement was admitted as evidence and was read in court, said that he saw the woman's body while he was riding on his bicycle to work.
Gonzalez is being represented by attorneys Oscar Selgado and Leeroy Banner.
Crown Counsel Cattouse intends to call12 more witnesses when the trial resumes tomorrow.
