And, last week, the police also charged a male police constable for sexually assaulting one of his female colleagues.
Constable Breigillo Ack allegedly fondled her while they were eon duty at a substation.
Today the Commissioner said that officers who are sexually harassed - are encouraged to make complaints, because it's no longer a patriarchal police department:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The female officer did make a report to the police that whilst working at a booth, I think on Rocky Road along with the male officer, he may have assaulted her sexually and based on that the investigation was conducted and the police was arrested and charged. The department is not a man's department no more. It's a department for all genders whether you are LGBT QI or whatever the case may be, you're straight - whatever. If you are a member of this department, we respect you and we are not going to allow nobody to infringe on the rights of another. And I can assure the female officer which I am sure she knows that she have the full support of the administration, in terms of what she did in making the report. We can only be a professional organization if we address issues that affects our members."
