Police hope that this can bring some calm to the north after more than a week of narco related violence.
On Monday night it continued in Corozal Town where - once again - a high powered assault rifle was used.
It happened at around 8:45 pm when police say an 18 year old went to a residence on G Street South to buy weed from a local dealer.
That's when a dark SUV passed by and stopped a few feet away from the dealer's residence. A gunman got out and fired eleven rounds from an assault rifle at the house and then ran off.
Police found (11) 7.62 casings on the street side and saw eleven bullet holes on the home's metal gate, The front of the home was also riddled with bullet holes.
Police did detain an 18 year old suspect. This is the second home to be shot up with a high powered rifle in the Corozal District in 10 days. The other incident involving 7.62 type rounds resulted in Kurtis Usher's murder.
