24-year old Police constable Adrian Hall, appeared unrepresented in the court of Chief Magistrate Jayani Wegodapola today. He faced two charges: escaping from lawful custody and causing damage to a window.
Hall pleaded not guilty to both charges. The first charge accuses him of causing damage to a $250.00 window belonging to Ursula Chee on Sunday.
The second charge alleges that on Tuesday, Hall tried to prevent Sgt. Rasheed Coleman from enforcing the law by escaping while being held in custody for the previous offence.
In court today, Prosecutor Sgt. Christopher Smith did not object to granting bail to Hall but requested strict conditions. The Chief Magistrate granted two separate bails.
For the charge of escape, Hall was offered bail of $1,500,and for damage to property, Hall was offered bail of $1,000.
PC Hall is scheduled to appear in court again on September 14th.
