Earlier in the news we told you about the suspicious gun found near accident victims Jesus Sacul and Jairo Guerra in Orange Walk. The police are implying that the men on the motorcycle presented a threat and that's why police were pursuing them so aggressively. And while the validity of that motivation is in question tonight, the family is also claiming that Sacul may have been shot. And to that they that police treated them in an accusatory and uncivil manner at the scene. A cousin of the deceased Eduardo Gonzalez has been named family spokesperson and he told CTV3 an hour ago how the police threatened him at the station when he went to inquire about his cousins.

"What happened when you went to the police station?"

Eduardo Gonzalez, Cousin to deceased

"When I got there I was asking the officer who was bringing in the vehicle, where my cousins are, I want to know where they are. The manner in which he answered me was not it, he shouldn't have answered me in that way. He told me "So you want to get shot too then" and I told him I just want to know where my cousins are. Then he told me "well if you are a doctor then go see your patient at the hospital" and so i just left because after that he asked me if i wanted to get locked up as well. I got on my motorcycle and left. I went to the hospital to see. And i think he had no right to answer me in that way."

And apart from being treated dismissively the more substantial claim that the family is making is that Sacul was shot.

"Did you see Jesus when he got to the hospital?"

Eduardo Gonzalez, Cousin to deceased
"I saw him in the bed giving his last. I heard him the moment he screamed out that he can't bear it anymore. I saw everything."

"As the voice of the family, what is your position? Do you really think that he was suffering from gunshot wounds?"

Eduardo Gonzalez, Cousin to deceased
"Yes i think so because all the neighbors are saying that they heard over 4 shots in this area. And the neighbors by the gasoline station, there is a guy who is saying that he heard 2 shots, 2 or four that's what he said."

According to the commissioner of police, from what he was told no shots were fired. The Sacul family is in the process of gathering witnesses who can attest that they saw and heard shots in the area when the incident unfolded.
