39-year-old former police officer, Elmer Nah was back in court today along with his common law wife, Epifania Caliz, and her brother, Manuel Caliz. This session should have seen a decision being handed down regarding their joint ammunition charge.
However, the case saw another adjournment due to delays. This is because submissions should have been given to the court by September 19th, but almost a month later, not all of them had been submitted, so the magistrate was forced to delay her decision.
It was adjourned for October 19, though the parties committed to having the submissions completed by this evening.
And after the session was over, court reporter Anita Nembhard took her place outside the courtroom to get footage of the defendants - something she does everyday. However, this time, as Nah's wife exited the courtroom, she approached Nembhard, pulled down her face mask and coughed in her direction, as seen in this video.
Nembhard told us she doesn't believe she did anything to warrant this behavior and has since filed a report against Caliz. We note that under a new law passed by the house on Friday, assaults not eh media are now considered aggravated assault.
