And, the death of 82 year old William Watson was also declared a murder yesterday - making it the 80th of the year.
The senior citizen was found dead inside his burnt home 8 days ago - and a post mortem examination on Monday confirmed that he had been stabbed twice to the neck.
The outcome came as a surprise to police - who say that they lost important lead time on the murder and arson investigation:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"That one left us for the simple fact that at the initial stage the information was that he died from the fire, maybe smoke inhalation or something of that sort. But having done the post-mortem examination it revealed that he died from multiple stab wounds which means that he was stabbed and then after he was stabbed and murdered then the house was set on fire."
Jules Vasquez
"Had the person gained unlawful entry into the home from what you are able to ascertain?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"At this time Jules, its difficult to say because of the extent of the fire, the house was extensive with damage and even, for example there was forced entry with the door, we would not be able to tell because that was also destroyed during the fire."
"But we're trying to see how we can work along with the fire department as well as the National Forensic Service to see what we can come up with to be able to guide the investigation."
Jules Vasquez
"Now with this particular crime do you believe that they killed him and burned the home to destroy the evidence?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"That is what we're believing at this time."
