While 2023's murder count was the lowest we've seen in decades, other major crimes, such as robberies, are still rampant. Today alone there were reports of aggravated burglaries, two robberies and a theft in different parts of the country.

This morning just before 10 in San Pedro Town, two employees of Caribena Enterprise Limited and Coral Cable Vision were headed to Atlantic Bank when they were approached by two men on motorcycle. The one riding pillion grabbed a bag from one of the employees that contained an undisclosed amount of cash before the motorcycle sped off.

Almost an hour later, at around 11:25, a 22-year-old student was walking on Seashore Drive when he was robbed of his school bag and cellphone at gunpoint by three men in a black SUV. Those culprits were also suspected to have been involved in another robbery that took place on Princess Margaret Drive - also today.

Then this afternoon around 2:45, a 39-year-old woman reported that she was inside her home on Faber's Road Extension when three men came through her back window, held her at gunpoint, and stole $4,000 in different denominations that was under her pillow. The three men then fled the scene.

No suspects have been arrested in any of these incidents.
