Cops Accused of Theft Gets Off

In July of 2022, a cop made major news when he was charged for stealing a cell phone.

But now 19 months later, Corporal Julio Sanchez has been cleared of charges. That's after the magistrate in the Independence Magistrate's Court dismissed the matter when no witnesses or prosecutors showed up.

Sanchez was placed on interdiction following the incident and the cell phone was recovered during investigations.

Sanchez is now free of all charges.
