Yesterday we told you that an investigation was launched into the facebook profile that has been impersonating the Minister of Natural resources Cordel Hyde.
As we showed you, the person behind the page has scammed and swindled gullible land seekers - tricking them into depositing money into someone else's account.
That someone else was taken to court today. She is Ada Ethel Toro. She arrived at court in the police van, covered her face as she exited the van and said, "I innocent."
She appeared before the magistrate this morning where she was charged for two counts of obtaining property by deception. She pleaded not guilty to both charges and was granted bail in the sum of $1000, plus one surety which she was able to meet.
In a police statement given by the minister, he did not give Toro any permission to use his picture on Facebook, nor is she employed by the Ministry Of Natural Resources.
Despite making bail Toro was detained again by CIB and escorted to the Queen street police station where more charges are expected to be levied against her since more persons have allegedly filed reports against her for scamming. We'll keep rolling these cases.
