We also asked Mira about his positioning as an area rep. IT's not his election, but he's in all the pictures with the slate. We asked him why:
Jules Vasquez
"You are in a unique position where one constituency has one area Rep, I think probably only San Pedro has it like that. Maybe you could say in Corozal Bay and Toledo East, where you have a constituency synonymous with a municipality."
"The entire municipality is engendered within the constituency. But I don't see them on the poster, why are you on every poster Mr. Mira? like you are promoting yourself. I would think that because of what happened in the last three years, and that you are part of it, you would have said, let me hangback and not put myself, but you are in front of every picture, sir."

Oscar Mira, Area Rep., Belmopan
"Because the people of Belmopan realize that we're doing work, Jules."
Jules Vasquez
"So they are running on your record?"
Oscar Mira, Area Rep., Belmopan
"No, no, no, no. The Belmopan City Council and the Area Rep. are two different entities. But Belmopan is the only municipality that has the same geographical area and the same voters."
"No other municipality has that. So why shouldn't we work together? I think that just reinforces the fact that us working together in Belmopan, great things will happen and continue to happen. We have been working hard, you know."
"We have been working hard. If you're good around Belmopan, see the projects that we have done in Belmopan. And regardless of what relationship there was at the leadership, I think that the work got done."
