And when we turned the chairman's concerns over to the commissioner for comment he told us today that the police have been applying intervention efforts for sometime to keep the peace between all parties. However he recently learned that some of the same individual's adding fuel to this fire are public servants in the force who reside in these villages being BDF soldiers and coast guard officers.

"On some occasion, when the chairman of Double Head would provide me with information, I would call him and I would call Mr. Barrow, who is the O.C. in Ladyville, or Mr. Sutherland, when Mr. Sutherland was Division 3 commander, and we would have three-way conversations where I would have him explain to them what the situation is, and then I would direct that the police follow through with whatever information he was providing."
"And I know again that they normally follow through with those instructions. Additionally, he is not the only one who provides information. Other persons from the area also provide information to me, and whenever that is done, I would normally do the same, to make sure that the police within the area do what they can do to avert anything from escalating."
"So again, as I said before, I am satisfied that the police did what they could have in the circumstances, within the ambits of the law. I can also say that the police have brought the parties together on more than one occasion, and had done interventions with them."
"But these people just are adamant about going at each other, and the sad part about it is that some of the players in this beef, are BDF, Coast Guard, and Police. So these are supposedly lawmen, and it is something that we, the three security forces need to look at and make sure that we deal with those persons who are from our respective organizations, in such a way that they understand that we cannot allow them to continue this stupidity, right. So I gave instructions yesterday, again, to OC Ladyville, to have all those players from double Head and Lemonal."
