There was a brazen broad daylight robber in Punta Gorda town this morning. It happened at Camila's store at around 9:30. The business owner told police that she was behind her counter when a man wearing a motorcycle helmet entered the store and pointed a gun at her. He shouted "Dinero" in Spanish and then fired one shot in her direction but missed.
The assailant then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash pan and ran out of the store, where he got on a black scooter with another man who was waiting for him. They drove down Main Street and disappeared.
Police have a known suspect.
