Port Loyola resident Doris Grant has been charged for alleged land fraud - and after that police have done extensive searches of her home.
But on Saturday, Doris Grant almost became a statistic when she was targeted in a shooting. Grant and her common law Austin Underwood were leaving a concert at 3:00 am - when they came under fire as they passed through gang turf - less than half a mile from their home.
ACP Romero told us what happened.

"On Sunday the 16th day of June 2024 Police responded to a shooting near Fairweather street in Belize city. Upon the arrival they received information that two persons had been shot and taken to the KHMH. They are identified as Doris Grant and Austin Underwood. Information is that they were driving inside a vehicle in that area when they heard several gunshots and realized that they had been shot. They were treated at the hospital and since been released. We have several persons in custody in regards to this investigation. We believe this is gang related."
Grant and her common law were in one vehicle which was riddled with bullets - while relatives were in the trailing vehicle which was also shot.
