You may know him as Fidel the Herbs man on Albert Street, but 63 year old Leroy Young appeared in court today for allegedly spitting in the face of another man after a heated exchange.
An exchange about what? Of all things, Trump and Biden!
The victim, 38-year-old Joshua Rivero, told police that he was standing outside of his business place at the Michael Finnegan Market on Friday, June 28 when he was approached by Young and they started having a debate on Trump versus Biden.
Things became heated very quickly between the two and so Rivero asked Young to " get out of the kitchen if he can't handle the heat ''
That's when Young allegedly spat in Rivero's face. Rivero then immediately informed the Market Security Guard and Young was taken into police custody. Young appeared unrepresented in court where he was read a single charge of common assault, and pleaded not guilty. He was offered self bail in the sum of $200 dollars and is expected to return to court on August 9th.
