In our last segment we told you about the woman police constable who has accused a male colleague of beating her up for no reason. Her case was dismissed by a disciplinary tribunal on Monday and the question tonight is whether justice is being denied to her.

Well, the Commissioner called us shortly after the story aired to say that he-learned of the dismissal this afternoon. He added, via text message, quote "The woman police who is the victim had notified me on Monday that there was a request from PSB to not proceed with the matter because according to them the accused police had covered her hospital bill and that it would not be fair to continue the matter against her. I advised her not to withdraw the matter, and I told DCP Bart Jones to kindly ensure the matter goes to a trial. I also informed Jones that if the accused officer had paid the victim hospital bill, that does not absolve him of the wrong he had done. In light of the outcome of the tribunal today. I will have the legal office review the matter and see if all the proper processes were followed leading up to the decision of the adjudicator. As a men dominated department, we must ensure equality within our members. This means that we men must respect the rights of our women colleagues."End quote.
