Daylight Armed Robbery In OW, Robbers Crashed Into Mayor

There was a daring broad daylight robbery in downtown Orange Walk today - and the town mayor was unwittingly involved. It happened this afternoon at around 2:00 at Triple A IMPORTS near the Fort Cairns market area.

Police have not provided details yet - but we can confirm that when the robbers were escaping in a white Chevy Equinox - they crashed into Mayor Ladrick Shepherd's Toyota Prado. That happened when it was reversing out into the street to make the getaway. Despite the rear end. Impact the vehicle still proceeded to make a clean escape. Shepherd told other media that he was in a state of shock.

Police have still not tracked down the Equinox which has a yellow sticker at the back and damages on the rear end.
