Senior Citizen Pulls Machete On 29 Year Old And Ends Up Getting Chopped

A 70 year old man survived being chopped by a 29 year old man in Xaibe village today. It happened at a village store around 10:00 this morning when Porfilio Copo was leaving a store in the village. He reportedly got into an altercation with a much younger man. Copo allegedly pulled out a machete, but during the struggle, the younger man got hold of the weapon and attacked Copo, injuring him in the neck and shoulder. Copo got back on his bicycle and rode away but collapsed about 100 feet from the scene. He was rushed to the Corozal Community Hospital where he received stitches and is in stable condition. The 29 year old who chopped him is detained.
