So, after that shooting and Saturday's double murder - the police department sent out a release warning about social media posts that incite violence. But, they sent this out before they sent out anything about the double murder of two innocent people. The commissioner conceded that it could have been done better:

"I believe the entire community is concerned when the social media platform is used to incite violence, especially during gang conflict. And we are working with our partners from the different platforms to address this."
"Not only to identify, but to be able to bring to justice those individuals who are sharing, who are promoting, who are engaging in inciting violence on the social media."

"I do recognize that there's a need for us to be transparent, to be open, and I do acknowledge that there is need for improvement in terms of our press public relations office. And I have put in place the necessary measure to ensure that information is shared in a timely manner to the media."
