And we also got the PM's response to the news that hero pilot Howell Grange has initiated action to sue the Belize Airports Authority. You'll hear that shortly, but first we have a quick look at the basis of his suit:

Barrow's letter gives formal notice that in a month's time, his clients- in this case, Howell Grange - plans to "file a Claim on his behalf and against the BAA for the harm and damage he suffered during the hijacking."

As is standard in such letters, Barrow urges the Airports Authority to to avoid litigation and settle tthe matter.

The notice of intended proceedings alleges that the Belize Airport Authority quote "facilitated the hijacking by its

failure to implement and maintain statutory security measures, including weapon screening protocols, as required by applicable civil aviation security legislation.

The notice also says that Grange suffered personal injuries, mental

anguish and post traumatic stress disorder because the Belize Airports

Authority was negligent and breached its duty of care. It says that the harm inflicted upon him "was a direct and foreseeable consequence of the Belize Airports Authority's failure to implement security screening and

weapon detection protocols….(which) allowed the hijacker to bring a weapon

onto the Tropic Air aircraft that Grange was piloting on 17th April."

We can confirm that Barrow is also representing two others, passenger Lilia Usher who we told you about last night, and passenger, Fitzgerald Brown who was stabbed 7 times. He has now also been added to the possible lawsuit.
