About a week ago The Flores family in Orange Walk turned to the public for assistance, briefing them on their son's medical diagnosis, and urgent need for treatment. 6 month old Emiliano had been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy known as SMA, a rare genetic disease and his parents were scrambling against time to find a way to access the funds, 2 million US for his treatment. But just after midday yesterday the family updated social media that their little one had been rushed to the emergency. And then later that night the mother gave another update on her facebook page, sharing the dreaded message that her baby did not make it and passed away. Her post says, quote, "It is with shattered hearts that we announce the eternal rest of our beautiful son Emiliano. We Thank you for all your unwavering support during this entire process."
