Tonight police have identified the man who was found floating near Southern Foreshore on Thursday afternoon - but they still don't know the cause of death.
Anthony Williams was a well known newspaper salesman in the city.
Today ACP Romero gave us an update but could not confirm the cause of death:
ACP Hilberto Romero, OCED
"In reference to the body found in front of the Bliss institute in the water the person was identified as Anthony Williams. He is from Kraal Road in Belize City."
"Apparently he left from his house during the night saying he was going out for a walk and he did not return."
"I will not go into details to what was found a post mortem will be done this week and then we will know what the cause of death is."
"We cannot say at this time but as soon as we get the post mortem results we will have more information."
Williams was reported to have been having breathing difficulties and had reportedly left home early in the morning for some fresh air.
