Belize took center stage on Sunday in Osaka Japan at the Expo 2025. A contingent of artists, performers and politicians participated under the national theme "One Belize, One Purpose: Ecosystem for Life."
Yesterday Prime Minister John Briceno delivered the keynote address which then flowed into a number of cultural performances by Belizean musicians, dancers and artists. Here are the highlights from his speech and the presentations.
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"And so as prime minister, I bring not only greetings but I bring an invitation, an invitation to the role to partner with Belize in sustainable tourism and renewable energy that respects communities and ecosystems in agricultural innovation that supports livelihoods and biodiversity and in cultural exchanges that enrich our understanding of each other. All of this will also be showcased at our Belize investment summit 2025 this September from the 3rd to the 4th in Belize."
"And yes we welcome investment but investment with integrity, we welcome trade but trade the uplifts and not exploits, and we welcome collaboration but always with respect for people and their rights."

"Together we can have a future where nature and humanity prosper side by side. We can build bridges between cultures, economies and generations and let us remember that in every corner of the world from the Caribbean Sea to the pacific ocean we share one plane, one purpose and one chance to get it right."
According to an official release, "The Belize Pavilion, a collaborative effort led by BELTRAIDE, the BTB, and the Blue Bond Unit, has received over 850,000 visitors to date and will remain open until October 15th."
