Accountant Accused of Stealing 129K From Fort George

An accountant is accused of helping herself to 125 grand from her employer's account.

39 year old Alicia McKenzie is out on bail of $10,000 dollars for a major theft from the Fort George Hotel and Spa.

This morning, McKenzie was escorted to the Belize City Magistrate's Court for her arraignment on a single charge of theft.

Allegations are that between April 8, and August 15, 2025, she dishonestly appropriated the sum of $125,721.72 property of Fort George Hotel & Spa with intent to permanently deprive them of such property. She allegedly did this through a series of online transactions - which went undiscovered for months.

Due to the seriousness of the offence, no plea was taken and her next court date is set for February 12, 2026.
