An elderly woman claims that police have continuously harassed her and her 2 grandsons over the past few months. She claims that there have been previous instances where her grandsons have been detained and released without reason, causing them to lose their jobs and creating instability within their lives. Jomarie Lanza spoke with her today at her home and she shared her concerns.

Yvonne Ellis, Claims Police Harassment

"I have a problem with the police man them coming to pick up my grandson them about things that are happening. They take them for 48 hours so many hours then let them go with no charges. When they come they say that the Inspector sends for them and wants to talk to them, only wants to talk to them and let them go. They don't let them go, they hold them for 48 hours. My grandson is saying that they are getting tired of it even me myself I am getting tired of it because when they come they have no kind of evidence of anything, they search my house, ransack my house and they don't find anything that they are looking for, for guns and things because I don't encourage crime in my house."

"If they are out there giving problems and things I don't know, but here they don't come and bring nothing at my house."

"Saturday they came here 2 mobile came here and the mobile that came are different officers are way from Belmopan."

Jo-
"And what did they want?"

"They came and said they came to look for guns and ammunition. And I get tired of it babes I really want the government to look into this with those officers."
